Sunshine and Flowers

Summer has arrived – at last – in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.

Here is a view of Arkengarthdale, including St. Mary’s Church, which was published in the DailyMail Online:

After a cold and wet spring delayed the buttercups blooming, the recent hot weather has brought them out, turning the rolling meadows near Langthwaite in the Yorkshire Dales into a sea of yellow

The winter was so long that the seasons have got muddled and all the wildflowers have come up at once – the bluebells, daffodils and buttercups have arrived together. The result is a spectacular display in the meadows.
